Client Testimonial

"Rosa is an amazing, motivating expert and incredibly patient. Ever since working with her my back has stopped hurting and I can wear 5 inch heels with impunity! Even after the most stressful day, one hour with Rosa and I am relaxed and calm again. I Recommend her highly." Susanna Kempe CEO

"We attended the Pilates retreat in Turkey with Rosa from the 11th-18th September 2010 and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Roanna has been attending Rosa's classes for some time whereas İ am more of a Pilates beginner, but Rosa was excellent at providing options for us both to work at levels we were comfortable with, and was also very encouraging when we were making progress. The sessions were always varied, incorporating flowing sequences, focused moves, stretching and relaxation. The terrace was also a lovely location for our Pilates session, it was cool and tranquil in the mornings and we even got to see some of the local wildlife in the form of a little owl who watched over us most mornings! The retreat has given us a new enthusiasm for Pilates, and has really motivated us to continue with all we have learned over the course of the week.

The location of the retreat, the Rose Garden Hotel in Koycegiz, was absolutely ideal – the town is set beside a beautiful lake and beneath imposing hills, and makes a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of other holiday resorts. The hotel itself is run by Gul, who is really friendly and always made us feel very welcome. The hotel is intimate, with only 16 spacious and comfortable rooms, and a sunny pool and terrace area. The daily brunch was nothing short of amazing – we ate fresh bread with homemade jam, fruit with homemade yogurt and honey, and drank Turkish tea. Gul also kindly allowed us to sample her fantastic cooking at dinnertime, which was better than the food we had in the local restaurants! On the subject of food, we also discovered an amazing local ice cream shop, which we naughtily visited most days… Other local delicacies include baklava and pastries, both sweet and savoury, from the patisserie near the lake front.

A must-do on any visit to Turkey is a Turkish bath – not only was this functional in that it rids you of dead skin in a way most exfoliators could only dream of, but it was also an entertaining cultural experience… This, along with a meal at the Botanik restaurant next door to the Turkish Bath, made for one of our best evenings of the holiday! Thank you Rosa!"

"Sun, sea, sand and the opportunity to gain some muscle tone - who could ask for more!
I have just returned from the Pilates Retreat in Turkey.  Not only was the venue quiet and beautiful - with first class service but I have lost 2 inches off my waist and 1.5 inches off my hips through the dedicated 2 hour daily Pilates session. I would highly recommend anyone to go - I know that I will be booking again for next year!" Alison M HR Business Partner

"I have attended two Pilates retreats run by Rosa in Turkey. We had excellent instruction undertaking a routine which was built upon throughout the week of each retreat. New exercises were explained and demonstrated clearly. The variety of the exercises gave us new options for our routines currently done at home. Our 2 hours instruction each day flew by. We really noticed the results of our hard work feeling more toned and stronger day by day. Rosa has found the most stunning location for these retreats and the hotel is amazing, you have not lived unless you have eaten breakfast at Gul's Rose Apart Hotel!
Save me a space for next year!" Jo P  Head of Research Nursing Dept.

About Köyceğiz

(click here to view Pilates Retreats photo album on Facebook)

We have found an oasis of calm in Koycegiz, a small lakeside town with stunning views of the mountains , set among orange orchards and olive groves. The family run Rose Garden Hotel, which has hosted retreats for many years, is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants and shops, also only 25mins from Dalaman International Airport.

The region is steeped in history, including the ancient city of Kaunos, with its rock tombs and amphitheatre. The thermal spa at Sultaniye, with healing waters and mud baths, is perfect for natural pampering. Köyceğiz Lake is linked to the Mediterranean Sea by a natural channel, so beautiful beaches are only a boat ride away.

The large fresh water lake is a haven for wildlife and turtles are sometimes seen while sipping an evening glass of wine in the cafes and restaurants that line the water’s edge.

Optional Activities

Visit to Köyceğiz market (Monday morning).
Swim and relax in a tranquil waterfall only 20mins from the hotel.
Evening trip to Sultaniye to relax in the thermal baths and mud spas overlooking the lake.  Highly recommended for lifting emotions and complete physical relaxation.
Visit a local village, followed by a 2hr trek through the mountains.  Late lunch at the village is provided by locals with their home-grown produce.
Turkish evening at the hotel with traditional food and entertainment (belly-dancing!).
All-day boat trip returning at 7pm.  Stop to relax on beautiful Turtle Beach, later passing the ancient ruins of Kaunos to then enjoy the thermal spas and mud baths of Sultaniye.  Optional Pilates on the beach.  Lunch is included.
Early afternoon trip to Beybasi, a local beauty spot.  You can lie in the sun, walk, swim, or explore.  Simply relax, sleep and drink wine in the cushioned area of the laid-back
Penbe restaurant, one of the best in the area.  We love it here so much - we’re sure you will too!

Who comes on this type of holiday?

Women of all ages show interest in this type of retreat, as do couples, and sports people who want to learn how to reduce injury through Pilates while having fun and relaxing. If you are a group interested in booking, please let us know as we can organise dates and a schedule fitted to your needs. Beginners are welcome and no previous Pilates experience is necessary.

If you are advanced in Pilates, you are taught advanced options to keep you challenged and stimulated. This holiday is perfect for anyone who wants to feel pampered and learn the great benefits of Pilates – in short, have a relaxing and energising holiday all in one! This one-week intensive course is equivalent to 2 terms’ worth of weekly Pilates classes.

What type of Pilates will you learn?

Each daily two-hour session focuses on building up the exercises, using the Body Control Pilates Method. By the end of the week you will be able to coordinate the moves of the class in a flowing session that will challenge your fitness and stamina. Different options are available so you can work at a level that is comfortable for you.

Each session includes 20 minutes of relaxation and meditation. We go over the basics from day one and you will have information from the website as well as recommendations of DVDs to use in your practice. We will also be sending you a exercise programme after the retreat to keep you on track and motivated in your exercises.
